SPBB of Edmonton, Alta. Cute, ~40 seat beer bar. We find everything interesting. We’re big nerds with flare, seeking same in a part-time bartender, full-time good sport.

who are we?

Nerds for food, wine and of course suds; all for the love of drink culture. we want to create a fun space where things move a little slower: life needs a pause button sometimes, and folks can find that here. there is craft in making eber and there is craft in serving it just right - the latter is where we come in. the higher the foam the closer to god. we have a constant desire to be The Best at what we do. we often ask ourselves, “how do societal pressures an different cultures shape the way we consume beer?”, then we explore that rabbit hole and see where it goes (maybe we’ll get to the centre of the earth one day?).

• you never say the phrase “i don’t know,” unless it’s followed by “…but i can find out!”

• the thought of learning somethng new feeds your soul. like chicken soup.

• extensive knowledge of The Office.

• compassion/empathy i.e. you cry every time you wach the eHarmoney girl’s dating video about cats.

• communication is your actual middle name

• community/team builder - you watch the Olympics every 4 years, not because you’re totally into shotput, but because you’re proud of everyone giving it their all

• teamwork is your family name - derives from the Dutch word for “I’m very good at working with others and I like that”

red flags*

• your go-to is “I”, instead of “we” when talking about team accomplishments

• you already think you know it all

• you identify with Stanley Hudson a little too much

• you don’t like The Beatles. or dogs.

• you drank your first kellerbier and NEVER thought to yourself, “Wait, what is a kellerbier?” - which then led you down a wiki-hole where you learned everything about french-bridge-design, immediately post-rev.

required

• ProServe Certification, or the ability to attain one.

• Minimum 2 years experience in customer-focused role(s). We will consider the right person, with the right attitude who can back-up their abilities through previous work experience, or involvement in teams (school, volunteer work or sports).

• bartending/barista experience preferred; fundamental beer knowledge preferred

• this is mainly a evening/weekend type gig, you must be available during these times

  → First Aid Certification considered an asset

  → Food safety certification considered an asset
